Stories of Impact & Hope

Honoring the dedication of family caregivers and the high school student volunteers standing beside them.

A note on patient privacy

Every ALS patient referenced on this page is fully anonymized. We never publish patient names, photographs, diagnoses dates, medical details, or any information that could identify a family. Caregiver names appear only as a first name and initial, and only with written permission that can be withdrawn at any time. Where a story would still be recognizable within a small community, we change identifying details or decline to publish it at all. Family dignity comes before our fundraising, without exception.

Nothing to show you yet

Our first families are still ahead of us.

Cover The Caregiver was founded this year and has not yet supported a family, so there are no stories on this page. We could have written some. We would rather you were able to trust everything else here.

When the first caregiver we help is willing to share what it meant, and has signed a release they can withdraw at any time, their story will appear here with the ALS patient fully anonymized. Not before.

Have a story you want told, or kept private?

Both answers are welcome. Nothing is ever published without written consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by a single email.

Opt-in, never automatic

Peer-to-peer caregiver connections

The people who understand an ALS caregiver’s day best are other ALS caregivers. Many of the families we work with have asked to be introduced to someone nearby going through the same thing.

We will only do that with explicit, written, revocable permission from both sides. Your contact information is never given to another family, a donor, a volunteer, or a partner organization unless you have signed a release naming exactly what may be shared.

How it works

  1. 1You sign the release below and tell us what may be shared: first name only, city, or full contact details.
  2. 2A member of the review board matches you with another opted-in caregiver in your region.
  3. 3We introduce you by email. Nothing is shared beyond what your release permits.
  4. 4You can revoke the release at any time by emailing us, and we remove you the same day.

Caregiver contact release

Electronic signature release. Submitting this form records your consent with a timestamp; it does not share anything until a match is confirmed with you.

What may we share with a matched caregiver?
